TORONTO ― Today, Premier Doug Ford issued the following statement to mark the beginning of Passover:
“This evening, at sundown, the Jewish community here in Ontario and around the world will gather with family and loved ones to begin the eight-day celebration of Passover.
Passover is one of the holiest times in the Jewish calendar, commemorating the journey of the Jewish people from enslavement in ancient Egypt to freedom in the promised land. It’s a time to honour family, tradition, and faith and for all of us to reflect on the challenges and triumphs of the Jewish people throughout history.
To all those celebrating, I wish you a happy Seder and a peaceful and joyous Passover.
Chag Pesach Sameach!”
