Prime Minister Justin Trudeau speaks with Prime Minister of Israel Naftali Bennett

Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with the Prime Minister of Israel, Naftali Bennett, who congratulated him on his re-election.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the strong cooperation between Canada and Israel, founded on close people-to-people connections, historic ties, and shared democratic values.

Prime Minister Trudeau and Prime Minister Bennett discussed efforts in Canada and Israel to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and deploy safe and effective vaccines.

Prime Minister Trudeau shared concerns about the disturbing increase of intolerance, antisemitism, and hatred, at home and around the world. He reiterated that Canada is committed to fighting antisemitism and hatred in all its forms.

The two leaders looked forward to staying in touch and meeting in person in the coming months.
