Rabba Roots Charity Golf Classic honors community causes

$20,000 presented in support of Trillium Health Partners Foundation

Mississauga, Ont., October 17, 2022 – Rabba Fine Foods, the GTA’s neighbourhood market, held its 24th annual golf fundraiser September 12, 2022, at the Brampton Golf Club. The event welcomed partners from the grocery industry in support of the Rabba Roots community program. Rabba celebrated with a tribute donation of $20,000 to its long-time partner, Trillium Health Partners. Additional donations will be made to several local charitable organizations through the company’s Rabba Roots program including The Mississauga Food Bank and Good Shepherd Ministries.

“We are proud to be able to support Trillium Health Partners,” says Jack Rabba, founder of Rabba Fine Foods. “The work they do is vital to the community and benefits countless people from all walks of life. Our partnership has grown over the years, and it is in part thanks to the inspiring support we receive from our partners and customers – much of which is evident through this annual golf event.”

Rabba has a longstanding relationship with Trillium Health Network, particularly in support of its intensive care units and emergency services since 1995.

Tom Shurrie, President & CEO at Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers acted as Master of Ceremonies for the golf event.

“This is the 24th annual golf tournament hosted by the Rabba corporate and brand family, says Tom Shurrie, president and CEO at Canadian Federation of Independent Grocers. “It’s a wonderful tournament in support of many charities and causes across our communities.”

Multiple key players from the grocery industry were in attendance in support of the event and the work of Rabba Roots.  Rabba partners in attendance included Maple Leaf Foods, The Kraft Heinz Company, Burnbrae Farms, Schneiders, Fiji Water, Nestlé, Coca-Cola, Ah-So Sushi, and C4 Energy.
