RECAP of Thursday at the Olympics for Canada!

Thursday was an incredible day for our Canadian athletes in Beijing. We now have a total of 12 medals and are THIRD overall in the medal race!

Here is a RECAP of Thursday at the Olympics for Canada!

***The Quebec native Éliot Grondin finished in second place. It was a photo finish between him and Austria’s Alessandro Haemmerle but in the end Grondin was awarded the SILVER medal in the Men’s Snowboard Cross Big Final.

TAKE A LOOK:

***Jack Crawford of Toronto finished with a BRONZE in the Men’s Alpine Combined Event with a total time of 2:32.11. This is Canada’s first-ever Olympic medal in this event and redemption for the last event where Jack did not medal.

TAKE A LOOK:

*** The Mixed Aerials team of Lewis Irving, Marion Thenault and Miha Fontaine shocked the nation as they won a BRONZE medal in the Mixed Aerials Team Ski Jumping event.  The team had previously placed 6th at the world championships in 2021 and was not expected to reach the podium at these Olympics.

TAKE A LOOK:


***Isabelle Weidemann added to her bronze medal which she won earlier this week  in the 3,000 m.  After racing a time of 6:48.18 in the 5,000 m Speed Skating Final Weidemann finishd second in the race earning Canada its second SILVER medal.

TAKE A LOOK:

***Five different Canadians scored as Canada’s Men’s Hockey team won their first game of these Olympics with a 5-1 score over the German men.

Thursday was a super full and successful day in Beijing for Canada. Let’s hope Friday goes just as well!
