Today, Mayor John Tory announced that the City of Toronto will hold seven Community Environment Days at the City’s Drop-Off Depots on Sundays throughout August and September. The events, which run from August 7 to September 25, will allow residents to drop off small household goods and clothing for donation, electronic items for recycling and household hazardous waste for safe disposal.

In 2020 and 2021, due to COVID-19 restrictions, Community Environment Days were held exclusively at Drop-Off Depots. This year, as restrictions were lifted, Community Environment Days returned as ward-based events. The City and local councillors hosted a total of 43 events across all 25 wards between April 2 and July 31. Given the success of events at the Drop-Off Depots, the City is offering seven Drop-Off Depot events on Sundays in August and September, to provide residents with even more opportunities to leave unwanted items for donation, recycling and safe disposal.

Event locations, dates and times are as follows:
• August 7, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Dufferin Transfer Station, 35 Vanley Cres.
• August 14, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Ingram Transfer Station, 50 Ingram Dr.
• August 21, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Commissioner Transfer Station, 400 Commissioners St.
• August 28, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Victoria Park Transfer Station, 3350 Victoria Park Ave.
• September 11, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Disco Transfer Station, 120 Disco Rd.
• September 18, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Bermondsey Transfer Station, 188 Bermondsey Rd.
• September 25, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Scarborough Transfer Station, 1 Transfer Pl.

In 2021, the City held 14 events at Drop-Off Depots and collected 30,293 kg of household goods for reuse, 29,470 kg of electronics for recycling and 112,177 kg of household hazardous waste for safe disposal.
