At just 17 years old, Shola Jimoh has emerged as one of Canada’s most promising soccer talents. Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, and raised in Brampton, Ontario, Jimoh’s journey began with Brampton East SC before progressing through the Toronto FC Academy and United Football Academy.

In June 2024, Jimoh signed an Exceptional Young Talent contract with York United FC, making his professional debut shortly thereafter. He quickly made an impact, scoring his first goal on July 13, 2024, becoming the league’s second-youngest ever goal-scorer at 16 years and 96 days. His inaugural season saw him net four goals across all competitions, including two game-winners, and provide one assist.

Internationally, Jimoh has represented Canada at the U15 and U17 levels, showcasing his potential on the national stage. In November 2024, he was called up to a senior national team training camp, highlighting his rapid ascent in Canadian soccer circles.

Jimoh’s combination of speed, agility, and soccer intelligence has not only earned him accolades but also the admiration of fans and coaches alike. As he continues to develop, the future looks exceptionally bright for this young star.
