Williams, 17, was originally selected by Ottawa in the tenth round (202nd overall) of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection. The Cary, North Carolina native has appeared in 27 OHL games, recording two goals and three assists during his time with the 67’s.
Young forward with NHL pedigree joins Brampton
Listed at 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, Williams is a right winger who brings developing offensive upside to the Steelheads’ forward group. He is also the son of former NHL forward Justin Williams, adding notable professional hockey pedigree to his background.

The move represents a low-risk acquisition for Brampton, allowing the club to add a young player with OHL experience while surrendering a late-round draft pick.
Steelheads continue roster adjustments
The trade is part of a series of recent roster and asset management moves by the Steelheads as the organization continues to shape its lineup and prospect pool during the OHL season.
Williams is expected to continue his development within Brampton’s system as the club proceeds with its regular-season schedule at the CAA Centre.
