Steelheads Blank Greyhounds 5–0 Behind Bowen Shutout

Zach Bowen makes 36 saves while Joshua Avery nets first OHL goal in dominant home win.

BRAMPTON – The Brampton Steelheads delivered a statement victory on Friday night, shutting out the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 5–0 at the CAA Centre.

After a scoreless first period, Joshua Avery scored his first OHL goal at 15:33 of the second, assisted by Troy Patton and Parker Von Richter, to ignite the home crowd. Less than two minutes later, William Eggleton doubled the lead with help from Kieran Witkowski and Jakub Fibigr.

The Steelheads continued their momentum in the third. Fibigr scored on the power play at 4:24 with assists from Gabriel Chiarot and Matej Stankoven, extending Brampton’s lead to 3–0. Stankoven added an empty-netter at 15:04, and Patton sealed the win with another empty-net goal just over a minute later.

Goaltender Zach Bowen stole the spotlight, stopping all 36 shots he faced to record the shutout.
