Team Toronto’s sustained efforts over the holidays have helped ensure that third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were delivered to 37 per cent of eligible Toronto residents.
Toronto Public Health estimates 37 per cent of eligible Toronto residents have already received their third dose of COVID-19 vaccine, as of January 2.
Team Toronto is focused on ramping up vaccination efforts in response to the Omicron variant and getting first, second and third doses into the arms of all who are eligible. As we move into the early days of 2022, the vaccine push continues, with 32,599 booked appointments for adult doses in City-run vaccine clinics this first week of January.
TPH will update residents as new booking options open, so that everyone can continue to get their vaccines into the new year. Anyone age 18 or older is eligible for a third dose 84 days following their second dose.
Team Toronto is offering vaccine appointments at City-run clinics, hospital partner clinics, local pharmacies and doctors’ offices, including the following clinic locations operating today:
City-run immunization clinics
The five City-run immunization clinics continue to add new appointments for first, second and third doses of COVID-19 vaccine. To book an appointment, click the blue “Book a Vaccine” button on www.toronto.ca/covid-19 or call 1-833-943-3900. City-run clinics are easily accessible by transit and offer free parking on site. Clinic staff are also able to provide resources in multiple languages. A person with a vaccination appointment can also bring a support person to help with translation.
While City-run clinics and health care partners across the province await further shipments of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine later this month, supply of the Pfizer vaccine is being reserved in priority sequence for residents aged 12 to 17 years. As of Thursday, January 6, all City of Toronto-run clinics will administer the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to residents 18 years of age and older.
People with vaccination appointments are asked to arrive no more than 10 minutes early to vaccination clinics. There will be vaccine doses available for everyone who has an appointment; arriving earlier than necessary does not impact availability. There are no walk-in appointments at City-run vaccination clinics. Michael Garron Hospital has a number of vaccination opportunities, including at three pop-up clinics: Diefenbaker Elementary School (4 p.m. to 8 p.m. or while supply lasts); Don Mills Middle School (3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. or while supply lasts); and Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School (2 p.m. to 8 p.m. or while supply lasts).

Given the emergence of the new Omicron variant and ongoing community transmission of the Delta variant, Toronto Public Health urges all eligible residents to book their third-dose appointment. Residents who have not yet received their first or second COVID-19 vaccine shot are encouraged to do so as soon as possible. COVID-19 vaccines lower the risk of serious illness, hospitalization and death, while protecting oneself, loved ones and the community.
Residents should also continue to follow public health measures such as mask wearing, good hand hygiene and physical distancing.
