Faced with the threat of the Omicron variant in December, Team Toronto ramped up vaccination capacity to help residents get their third vaccine doses. Residents age 18 and older are eligible for a third “booster” dose 84 days after their second dose of COVID-19 vaccine. In total, 1,289,164 people have now received their third dose from Team Toronto across the city, giving them an extra layer of protection against the virus, including the highly-transmissible Omicron variant.

With more than 6,455,637 doses of vaccine administered, Team Toronto isn’t slowing down. City of Toronto operated clinics are scheduled to vaccinate nearly 5,000 people today. Appointments are still available for adults and children across the five City-run clinics and the wider Team Toronto network of vaccination options. More information on the hundreds of vaccination options is available on the City’s COVID-19: How to Get Vaccinated webpage: www.toronto.ca/home/covid-19/covid-19-vaccines/covid-19-how-to-get-vaccinated/.

Toronto Public Health reminds residents that the COVID-19 Omicron variant continues to spread, creating an urgent need for those eligible to receive a third dose of vaccine to get vaccinated as soon as they are eligible. Any residents who have not yet received their first or second dose of COVID-19 vaccine are also encouraged to do so as soon as possible. COVID-19 vaccines lower the risk of serious illness, hospitalization and death, while protecting oneself, loved ones and the community.

Today, Team Toronto partners will administer thousands of vaccines at City-run clinics, hospital partner clinics, more than 525 local pharmacies and doctors’ offices, including the following clinic locations:

City-run immunization clinics
The five City-run immunization clinics continue to add new appointments for first, second and third doses of COVID-19 vaccine. To book an appointment, click the blue “Book a Vaccine” button on www.toronto.ca/covid-19 or call 1-833-943-3900. City-run clinics are easily accessible by transit and offer free parking on site. Clinic staff are also able to provide resources in multiple languages. A person with a vaccination appointment can also bring a support person to help with translation.

While City-run clinics and health care partners across the province await further shipments of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine later this month, all City of Toronto-run clinics will administer the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to residents 30 years of age and older.

People with vaccination appointments are asked to arrive no more than 10 minutes early to vaccination clinics. More information on City-operated immunization clinic transportation options and on-site amenities is available on the City’s COVID-19: How to Get Vaccinated webpage: www.toronto.ca/home/covid-19/covid-19-vaccines/covid-19-how-to-get-vaccinated/.
