TORONTO – Theatre Passe Muraille (TPM) has announced its 2025/2026 season, unveiling an exciting slate of productions that spotlight emerging and established Canadian voices, with a strong focus on women creators. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Marjorie Chan, TPM continues its legacy as one of Toronto’s most dynamic theatre companies, dedicated to fostering accessibility, innovation, and community engagement.

The season kicks off this September with BUTCH/FEMME, an intimate drama by Emily Paterson set in 1950s rural Ontario, exploring love and identity between two women reconnecting after years apart. In October, What Brings You In by Leslie Ting blends violin performance with deeply personal storytelling, reflecting on Ting’s transition from optometry to music.

2026 will open with the world premiere of Through the Eyes of God, a powerful one-person play by acclaimed playwright Anusree Roy about a mother’s harrowing journey to find her trafficked son in Kolkata. Meanwhile, As I Must Live It by Luke Reece returns following its 2023/2024 success, touring Calgary and another Canadian city. This moving spoken-word piece combines humour, heartache, and reflection on family and race.

TPM will also host the PXR Conference, exploring the intersection of performance and digital technology, and bring back the popular #BeyondTO Series, which highlights stories and artists beyond Toronto’s borders. Throughout the season, TPM will continue to offer free community programming, Q&As, panels, workshops, and accessibility initiatives, as well as the ongoing Buzz In-Development Series, nurturing new work from artists such as Michael Caldwell, Anika Johnson, and more.

Founded in 1968, Theatre Passe Muraille remains committed to creating and supporting stories that resonate with Toronto audiences and reflect the city’s rich cultural diversity.
