Thorah Central Public School was thrilled to virtually welcome the youngest contestant to ever win NBC’s America’s Got Talent (AGT), the gifted singer/ventriloquist Darci Lynne, to share her talent with students on June 22.

Darci-Lynne engaged with students for over an hour and talked about her AGT win, her life after AGT, and about puppets and ventriloquism. The students were grateful to have experienced a performance from Darci Lynne and her famous puppet Petunia!

Darci’s polished, impeccable skill as a ventriloquist at such a young age is sure to inspire the next generation to keep the craft alive.

Accessing Community-Connected Experiential Learning (CCEL) grant funding through the Durham District School Board (DDSB), Thorah Central Public School staff and students created puppets for students from Grades 1-4. The school will continue to build and perform with large scale blacklight puppets in the fall.
