Toronto COVID-19 vaccination update

The City is working with all our healthcare partners, pharmacies and Toronto Public Health to administer all available COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 531,058 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Toronto.

The City is currently vaccinating residents born in 1951 and earlier at five of the City-operated mass immunization clinics: Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto Congress Centre, Scarborough Town Centre, Malvern Community Recreation Centre and Mitchell Field Arena. On April 5, a City-operated clinic at The Hangar will open.

As of yesterday evening, approximately 77,199 people have booked COVID-19 vaccination appointments at a City-run clinic. Nearly 23,000 people having booked appointments since vaccine eligibility was expanded to seniors age 70 and older last Saturday. There are many appointments still available today and throughout the holiday weekend and residents born in 1951 or earlier are encouraged to book now to secure an available appointment.

Eligible seniors can book appointments through the dark blue “Book a Vaccine” button on www.toronto.ca/covid-19 with the added option of booking by phone through the Provincial Vaccine Information Line at 1-888-999-6488. The City and healthcare partners are working to operate approximately 31 clinics today, including mobile teams and on-site clinics, to vaccinate priority groups identified by the Province of Ontario’s priority framework. These clinics are only vaccinating those in the priority groups who have confirmed appointments.

City of Toronto immunization clinics
• Yesterday, held five clinics: Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto Congress Centre, Scarborough Town Centre, Malvern Community Recreation Centre and Mitchell Field Arena.
• Vaccinated approximately 5,191 eligible seniors.
• Today, will vaccinate up to approximately 6,300 people born in 1951 or earlier. Only those with confirmed appointments will be vaccinated. People without appointments should not attend a City’s immunization clinic.

Unity Health Toronto
• Yesterday, held three on-site clinics at St. Michael’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Health Centre and Providence Healthcare and three mobile clinics.
• Vaccinated 1,760 people who are priority hospital and community based healthcare workers, local pharmacy staff, local dentists and their staff, individuals 70 years and older, individuals living in congregate settings, members of the Indigenous community and shelter staff.
• Today, will hold three on-site clinics and two mobile clinics.
• Will vaccinate 1,800 people belonging to the same groups.

University Health Network
• Yesterday, held four on-site clinics and a mobile clinic.
• Vaccinated 1,580 people who are healthcare workers and students, individuals 70 years and older, long-term care staff and essential caregivers, and patients and community members with high-risk chronic health conditions at the on-site clinics.
• Vaccinated 190 individuals living in congregate settings and shelters at the mobile clinic.
• Today, will hold four on-site clinics and a mobile clinic.
• Will vaccinate 1,600 people who are healthcare workers and students, individuals 70 years and older, long-term care staff and essential caregivers, and patients and community members with high-risk chronic health conditions at the on-site clinics.
• Will vaccinate 350 individuals living in congregate settings at the mobile clinic.

Michael Garron Hospital – East Toronto Health Partners
• Yesterday, held two on-site clinics (Thorncliffe Park Community Hub and MGH) and a primary care clinic.
• Vaccinated 1,366 people who are healthcare workers, Indigenous adults, individuals who receive home care, faith leaders, community members 70 years and older, individuals living in shelters or experiencing homelessness, and residents 50 years and older in hot spot communities.
• Today, will hold three on-site clinics (Thorncliffe Park Community Hub, Jimmie Simpson and MGH), one primary care clinic and a pop-up clinic, and deploy a mobile team.
• Will vaccinate 2,025 people belonging to the same groups.

Humber River Hospital and North Western Toronto Ontario Health Team
• Yesterday, held one on-site clinic and a mobile clinic.
• Vaccinated 638 people who are healthcare workers, first responders, individuals 70 years and older, Indigenous adults, long-term care staff and essential caregivers, adult recipients of home care services, and individuals living in congregate settings and shelters.
• Today, will hold one on-site clinic and a mobile clinic.
• Will vaccinate 884 people belonging to the same groups.

North York General Hospital – North York Toronto Health Partners
• Yesterday, held two on-site clinics and two mobile clinics.
• Vaccinated 1,596 who are hospital healthcare workers, patients and community members 70 years and older at the on-site clinics.
• Vaccinated approximately 218 individuals who are 65 years and older living in congregate care settings and people living in shelters at the mobile clinics.
• Today, will hold two on-site clinics.
• Will vaccinate approximately 1,596 people who are hospital healthcare workers, individuals living in shelters and community members 70 years and older.

Scarborough Health Network
• Yesterday, held two on-site clinics and two pop-up clinics.
• Vaccinated 2,300 people who are healthcare workers, residents 70 years and older, individuals living in congregate settings, and individuals experiencing homelessness.
• Today, will hold two on-site clinics and two pop-up clinics.
• Will vaccinate approximately 2,100 people belonging to the same groups.

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre
• Yesterday, held one on-site clinic.
• Vaccinated 1,000 people who are residents 70 years and older, Indigenous adults, adults who receive home care, healthcare workers and hospital staff.
• Today, will hold one on-site clinic.
• Will vaccinate approximately 1,100 people belonging to the same groups.

CAMH
• Yesterday, held one on-site clinic.
• Vaccinated approximately 228 people who are hospital healthcare workers, community members 70 years and older, Indigenous adults and faith workers.
• Today, will hold one on-site clinic.
• Will vaccinate 252 people belonging to the same groups.

The City, Toronto Public Health, hospitals and community healthcare centres are all working together to get Torontonians vaccinated as quickly as possible. Getting vaccinated protects individuals, their close contacts and the community. As vaccine supply for the general population becomes widely available from the Government of Canada and the Province, more than 350 clinics, including pharmacies and mobile clinics across Toronto, will vaccinate people following the priority framework established by the Province.
