Toronto FC Shutout Charlotte FC, Toronto wins 4 – 0

The Toronto FC were facing the Charlotte FC in BMO Field in Toronto on Saturday evening.

Toronto debuted their pair of new Italian Superstars in Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi.  The Italian duo did not disappoint giving the Toronto FC a boost right from the start.

Federico Bernardeschi scored a goal and had an assist in his debut while fellow Italian teammate Lorenzo Insigne registered his first assist with the club.

Team Captain Michael Bradley scored 2 goals in the game, one off the which was assist by newcomer Lorenzo Insigne.

Jonathan Osorio also scored a goal in the game.

The Toronto FC were up 4 – 0 after the first half of play.  It is the first time they took a 4 – 0 lead in the first half in franchise history.  With the lead the coach took the Italian duo off at the half and the rest of the team was able to maintain the lead for the rest of the match.

They finished with a 4 – 0 win.

Up next for the club is the Canadian Championships on Tuesday July 26th 2022.
