TORONTO — Toronto is recognizing the best in architecture, design, and city building as the 2025 Toronto Urban Design Awards are handed out tonight.
Now in its 35th year, the biennial awards highlight the architects, landscape architects, urban designers, artists, students, and city builders who shape the look and livability of Canada’s largest city.
Mayor Olivia Chow, Jason Thorne, Executive Director and Chief Planner, and members of the design and development community are gathering this evening to celebrate the winners.
“The Toronto Urban Design Awards showcase the creativity and vision that make Toronto more vibrant, inclusive and livable. Congratulations to this year’s winners for helping us build a beautiful city we can all be proud of,” said Mayor Chow.
Recognizing Design Excellence
The awards celebrate projects that advance accessibility, inclusivity, reconciliation, and sustainability, reflecting Toronto’s broader commitment to thoughtful, equitable urban growth.
An independent jury composed of architects, landscape architects, urban designers, and academics selected 24 projects to be recognized this year:

The winners reflect a diverse range of projects that exemplify how design can enhance the everyday life of residents while addressing broader urban challenges.
