THORNHILL — Ontario is investing $20,000 through the 2025 Experience Ontario program to support the Vaughan Stuffed Food Festival, one of the region’s most anticipated culinary events. The announcement was made by Thornhill MPP Laura Smith, as part of nearly $20 million in funding being distributed across the province to support more than 350 festivals and events this year.
“Festivals and events showcase the best of Ontario, its people and its culture all while inviting people near and far to experience and enjoy our province,” said Stan Cho, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming. “Now more than ever, it is important that we come together to take part in made-in-Ontario experiences that celebrate our collective identity and support local communities.”
About the Vaughan Stuffed Food Festival
The Vaughan Stuffed Food Festival is more than just a food event — it’s a vibrant celebration of culture, creativity, and community. From handmade dumplings and arancini to bao buns and gourmet pierogis, the event brings together a deliciously diverse selection of cuisines under one theme: stuffed foods.
Launched several years ago as a grassroots community event, the festival has grown into a cornerstone of Vaughan’s summer calendar. Thanks to this year’s funding, organizers are offering free admission for all attendees.
“Festivals like the Vaughan Stuffed Food Festival are more than just a celebration of food, they’re a celebration of community,” said MPP Laura Smith. “These events bring people together from all walks of life and showcase the incredible talent and diversity that define Ontario.”
Supporting Local Vendors & Community
This year’s event features 25 local vendors, live entertainment, family-friendly attractions, and cultural performances. Organizers say the event drew thousands of attendees, generating increased business for Vaughan’s restaurants, hotels, and main street retailers.
“We’re thrilled to receive $20,000 in support from the Experience Ontario program this year,” said Davide Venti, Community Outreach Manager for the festival. “This funding has enabled us to welcome the entire community free of charge and connect a staggering 25 local vendors with attendees.”
The festival has become a platform for small business owners and food entrepreneurs to grow their audiences and engage directly with the public. In past years, some vendors have reported the event as their most profitable weekend of the summer.
