Canadian Splash – Exploring the underwater world of Canada one province and territory at a time

NORTH BAY, ON, June 17, 2019 /CNW/ – Nobody pictures Canada as a diving location, yet with the longest coastline in the world and more freshwater lakes than any other country, we are more connected to water that most people seem to think.

We want to show people that there is more to Canada than just hockey, vast wilderness, and maple syrup. There is an incredible world below the waterline. Our recent project, Canadian Splash, is a carefully crafted 13-part project where we plan on diving and photographing every province and territory of Canada showcasing the beauty, wonder, and fragility hidden beneath its surface. As we dive into some of the different regions of Canada we will be posting photos and writing about the animals we meet, the things we see, the history in the area and any other interesting scuba related topics.

Who are we

Hi, we are Ali and Joey, two Canadian scuba divers from Ontario.

Brought together by our love for being in the water, we have been proudly sporting a neoprene wetsuit for the better part of a decade. Following our passion we now live a life less ordinary – working, traveling and scuba diving.

As the owners and founders of Dive Buddies 4 Life, our mission is to educate and empower people to explore the amazing underwater. By diving, photographing and documenting scuba opportunities, we hope to captivate the world the way the underwater world has captivated us.

Canadian Splash

The first time someone imagines themselves as a scuba diver, cold water never really crosses their mind. They picture coral reefs and tropical oceans filled with color. To think that some scuba divers layer on the gear to brave the dark bone-chilling water is unimaginable.

Living in Canada, cold water diving has become our middle name.

After a few years abroad, we’ve slowly come to the realization – there’ no place like home. In the upcoming months, Dive Buddies 4 Life is planning on spending much of our time scuba diving and exploring the underwater world of our beautiful northern country.
