TORONTONov. 21, 2017 /CNW/ – CraveTV congratulates Banger Films and the entire team behind the Bell Media-commissioned HIP-HOP EVOLUTION on their International Emmy Award for Best Arts Programming. Winners were announced at the 2017 International Emmy Awards gala in New York on Monday night.

The four-part documentary series is currently streaming on CraveTV.

Last night’s big win is the latest in a string of awards racked up by the documentary series, commissioned by Bell Media for HBO Canada and produced in partnership with Banger Films. In April 2017, the series was recognized with a prestigious Peabody Award by the The Peabody Awards Board of Jurors in the Documentary category, one of only 12 winners out of 1,200 submissions. The power-house documentary features interviews with the musical legends and pioneers that started it all.
