First up, with a global gastronomy tour, is THE FEARLESS CHEF(Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET, beginning July 5). In a world where food is more processed and convenient, chef Kiran Jethwa‘s mission is to discover fascinating natural ingredients and extreme methods of harvesting around the world. His journey takes him from Africa to Latin America, and across Asia, where he meets with extraordinary people and turns their hard earned harvest into mouth-watering meals. Travelling around the globe, Jethwa creates amazing, delicious, locally inspired dishes, fueled by the mentality that the tougher the challenge, the better the taste will be.
Also making its debut this month on Gusto is UPROOTED (Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET, beginning July 6), which follows the adventures of North American mom and food lover, Sarah Sharratt as she navigates her way through her new life in rural France. Each episode captures the fun and challenges, from the language barriers and hard to-source ingredients to strange local customs involved in making a special meal prepared in the kitchen of Sharratt’s stunning 12th century chateau.
Popular British chef Rick Stein also joins Gusto this month with RICK STEIN’SLONG WEEKENDS (Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET, beginning July 18). Looking to inspire viewers to try new places and avoid the usual tourist traps, Stein sets his sights on his weekend getaway destinations of Bordeaux, Berlin, Reykjavik, Bologna, and Vienna, and steps in as the ideal food guide. From fabulous local markets and great restaurants to wineries, cafes, and bars, Stein showcases food excellence and brilliant recipes that people will love to cook at home. Returning to his own kitchen in Padstow, England, Stein chooses three classic dishes from each location and shows us how to cook them.
Premiering in late July, Gusto serves up MEAT VS. VEG (Mondays at 9:30 p.m. ET, beginning July 24), an upbeat food challenge series, where two chefs go head-to-head in a challenge of carnivore vs. vegetarian. Food adventurer and vegetarian Lee Watson tempts the toughest of palettes over to the ‘green’ side, while his opposition is meat guzzling, game shooting chef Mike Robinson. The heat is on.
Finally, home cook face-off competition series MASTERCHEF AUSTRALIA(Mondays at 10 p.m. ET, beginning July 3) is back for Season 7. Top Australian Chefs Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris, and Matt Preston return to judge 50 of Australia’s best home cooks as they battle it out through pressure tests and elimination challenges to be the last one standing in the MASTERCHEF AUSTRALIA kitchen.
