Making memories this holiday season: easy as pie, or cake

Happy Holly-Days Cake from Baskin Robbins

Bringing people together feels good. Adding an experiential element (or activity) such as a game or a meal is even more likely to create long-lasting memories. Here are five creative ways to spend the holidays with your loved ones:

1.      Themed game night: Plan a game night with a festive theme. Choose games that everyone can participate in like holiday-themed charades or trivia, or a scavenger hunt that features holiday decorations, small toys or colourful candy.

2.      A shared, new tradition: Propose a new tradition like decorating a Christmas tree or wreath, organizing a caroling opportunity with a neighbour in need or loved one half-way around the world, or even a basic holiday-themed movie night.

3.      DIY holiday craft party: Gather loved ones for a do-it-yourself holiday craft party. Set up stations with supplies for making personalized ornaments, wreaths, or other festive decorations. Serve drinks and snacks to add to the joyful atmosphere such as Baskin-Robbins’ new Holly-days Cake, customizable with any flavour, or Cup of Cocoa ice cream.

4.      Community service and giving: Volunteer as a group at a local charity or organize a community service project. Collect donations for a worthy cause, whether it’s food, clothing, or toys, and distribute them to those in need.

5.      Secret Santa with a twist: Instead of traditional Secret Santa, add a twist to the gift exchange. Assign each person a letter of the alphabet, and their gift must start with that letter. It adds an extra layer of creativity and thoughtfulness to the exchange.

Remember, the most important aspect is to be present and enjoy each other’s company. Whether you choose one of these ideas or come up with your own, the shared experience will contribute to a holiday season filled with joy and meaningful connections.
