Mississauga, ON – The City of Mississauga has unveiled two exciting grant opportunities aimed at fostering community engagement and enriching the cultural landscape through vibrant live music events.

Starting on Monday, April 1, interested parties can vie for funding through the Small Projects Matching Grant and the Live Music Grant, each tailored to support initiatives that contribute to the city’s social fabric and artistic vitality.

The Small Projects Matching Grant is targeted at non-profit community groups affiliated with the City’s Community Group Registry Program. This grant seeks to empower grassroots organizations to undertake projects that strengthen neighborhoods, enhance resident engagement, and commemorate Mississauga’s 50th anniversary. Webinars scheduled for April 3 and April 10 will provide crucial insights into the application process, particularly for new applicants and those who haven’t received funding in the past two years. The deadline for submission is set for April 17, 2024.

Concurrently, the Live Music Grant offers a unique opportunity for for-profit entities to secure funding for hosting inclusive and safe live music events for Mississauga residents and visitors. Aligned with the City’s Music Strategy, this grant aims to bolster the frequency and diversity of live music experiences across the municipality. Interested parties can register for informational webinars on April 10 and April 24, with the application deadline slated for April 26, 2024.

Both grant programs emphasize the importance of attending the mandatory webinars to familiarize applicants with the criteria and application procedures.

“All grant applications must be submitted online,” emphasizes a city spokesperson. “We encourage all eligible groups and organizations to take advantage of these opportunities to bring their innovative projects and live music events to life.”

Furthermore, the City of Mississauga hints at forthcoming grant opportunities and virtual sessions slated for fall 2024, underscoring its commitment to supporting community initiatives and cultural endeavors throughout the year.
