Premier Doug Ford Extends Yom Kippur Wishes

Happy Yom Kippur Poster

Today, Premier Doug Ford shared the following statement to mark Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement:

“Beginning at sunset tonight, Jewish people across Ontario and the rest of the world will observe Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Hebrew calendar.

Following the festive celebrations of Rosh Hashanah last week, today’s Day of Atonement is a sacred time for those of the Jewish faith to rest and reflect on any wrongs they may have committed over the past year. It is a time for prayer and fasting and of renewal and growth.

When members of the Jewish community break their fast on Monday morning, I hope they and their loved ones will greet the new year with hope and optimism.

For all who are observing, I wish you an easy and meaningful fast and a clean slate for the new year.

G’mar Chatima Tova.”
