TORONTO — Today, Premier Doug Ford issued the following statement to mark Orthodox Christmas:
“Merry Christmas to all Ontarians of the Orthodox Christian faith.
For many in our province, this is a sacred day to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, gather with family and friends and reflect upon the blessings of the past year. It’s a time to embrace goodwill and to spread kindness and warmth in our communities.
It’s also a time for all of us to celebrate Ontario’s diverse Orthodox communities and their contributions to our province’s rich culture and traditions.
To those celebrating, I hope this blessed day brings you happiness, love and light. On behalf of our government, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”
