Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who congratulated him on his re-election.

The two leaders agreed to explore further opportunities on reconciliation with Indigenous peoples, which is a key priority for both Canada and Mexico.

The Prime Minister and the President underscored the importance of the bilateral economic relationship between their two countries, anchored in the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement, and their mutual interest in ensuring it continues to provide a strong, stable framework for growth and prosperity across North America.

The two leaders discussed the important contribution that Canadian investors make to the Mexican economy, including in the transportation, energy, and mining sectors.
