Friday was a NO MEDAL day for team Canada in Beijing. With our 12 medals we remain in FOURTH place in the Medal Race.

***Here is a RECAP of Friday at the Olympics for Canada!

Defending Olympic champion Ted-Jan Bloemen set out for another gold medal in the Men’s 10000 m Speed Skate.  The decorated Olympian struggled through much of the race and finished in a disappointing EIGHTH place. The swedish skater Nils van der Poel broke his own world record and won the gold in this race.

TAKE A LOOK:

***Canada’s Women’s Hockey Team scored an impressive eleven goals to beat team Sweden with a score of 11-0 in their first must win game. Both Brianne Jenner and Sarah Fillier scored hat-tricks to secure the win. Off to the semi-finals they go.

TAKE A LOOK:

*** Controversy arose yesterday when Mark McMorris criticized the scoring in his Snowboard Event which was won by fellow Canadian Max Parrot. McMorris who took Bronze in the even claims that he had the run of the day, and that an error Parrot made during his run was not visible do the judges until after and thus, Parrot should have been scored lower. What do you think?
