MISSISSAUGA, ON – The Mississauga Steelheads will once again host their annual Family Day game on February 19, 2024 when they take on the Owen Sound Attack at 2:00 PM. It will be an exciting, cross-conference battle between two evenly matched teams.

Fans can look forward to seeing two of the best young goaltenders in the Ontario Hockey League go head-to-head, Ryerson Leenders and Carter George. Leenders ranks third amongst all North American goaltending prospects heading into the 2024 NHL Draft, is currently second in save percentage (.913) and has three shutouts this season.
Owen Sounds Carter George currently ranks as the top goaltending prospect in North America, currently holds a .916 save percentage and has four shutouts on the season.
The first 1000 fans that arrive at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre for the game will receive a Nic Hague bobblehead, courtesy of SmartStop Self Storage.
Former assistant captain of the Mississauga Steelheads, Nic Hague played 198 games with the hockey club and currently holds the franchise record for single season points amongst defencemen (78), which he set in 2017-18. Following his record-breaking season, he was awarded the OHL’s Most Outstanding Defenceman of the Year. The Kitchener native was drafted in the second round by the Vegas Golden Knights in 2017 and made his NHL debut during the 2018-19 season. Hague was also part of the Golden Knights run to a Stanley Cup last summer.
The Family Day Game is one of the last two Steelheads’ Winning Nights. If the Steelheads secure two points against the Attack, fans in attendance will receive a complimentary ticket for the game on Friday, February 23rd, at 7:00 PM, when the Steelheads host the Niagara IceDogs.
