MISSISSAUGA, ON – On Friday September 29th at 7:00 PM, the Mississauga Steelheads host the Erie Otters for their Home Opener. The game will also mark the first of twelve games where the hockey club has partnered with Brain Injury Association of Peel & Halton (BIAPH) and PFAFF for a unique and exciting second intermission activation. As the season moves toward the holiday break in December, there will be plenty for fans to cheer about including the opportunity to shoot for an Audi Q5, 50/50 raffles and more.
As part of BIAPH’s fundraising initiatives over twelve games, the second intermission will feature the “Goal in One Contest”, where a random fan will be chosen and have the opportunity to shoot for an Audi Q5. Fans must have a ticket to the game in order to be entered into the draw and further details surrounding the contest will be announced at a later date.

The Steelheads values are rooted in the community, a vision that is shared with BIAPH. A member of BIAPH’s Caregiver Relief Program explained, “…you [BIAPH] have changed my life. The help I received from the PSW was absolutely wonderful. This is life changing, you have absolutely no idea how helpful this has been for me… I can’t believe the number of things I was able to accomplish while she was here.”
President of BIAPH Roger R. Foisy commented on the partnership. “Our partnership with the Mississauga Steelheads represents a shared commitment to excellence, both on and off the ice. We’re excited to join forces with a team that embodies community values and a strong commitment to inclusion. Together, our aim is to shed light on the journey of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) survivors, raising awareness about this often invisible disability. By joining forces, every game becomes a triumph for our mission, transforming the arena into a platform to celebrate the stories of resilience.”
