Sudbury Wolves Blank Mississauga Steelheads 3-0 in OHL Playoff Opener

MISSISSAUGA, ON – The Paramount Fine Foods Centre witnessed a gripping showdown as the Sudbury Wolves asserted their dominance over the Mississauga Steelheads in the inaugural game of the 2024 OHL Playoffs. With an electrifying performance, the Wolves secured a commanding 3-0 victory, leaving the Steelheads struggling to break through their solid defense.

From the opening puck drop, Sudbury set the tempo, swiftly taking the lead just under two minutes into the game. Landon McCallum’s precise wrist shot found the back of the net, setting the tone for the Wolves’ offensive prowess. Despite Mississauga’s efforts to retaliate, the Sudbury defense held firm, denying the Steelheads any meaningful scoring opportunities.

As the first period progressed, Sudbury capitalized on a power play opportunity to further extend their lead. Dalibor Dvorský capitalized on a well-executed play, burying the puck behind Mississauga’s goaltender Ryerson Leenders.
