Toronto COVID-19 vaccination update

The City of Toronto is working with all our healthcare partners, pharmacies and Toronto Public Health to administer all available COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 349,569 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Toronto.

The City is currently vaccinating residents born in 1941 and earlier at three of the City-operated mass immunization clinics: Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto Congress Centre and Scarborough Town Centre. As of Monday, March 22, individuals born in 1946 and earlier, will also be able to book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment at any of these clinics. On March 29, City-operated vaccination clinics at Malvern Community Recreation Centre and Mitchell Field Community Centre will open to eligible seniors with confirmed appointments. A sixth clinic at The Hangar will open on April 5.

Online booking at these six City-run clinics began on Friday, March 12. As of yesterday evening, 23,804 people have booked COVID-19 vaccination appointments at a City-run clinic. Eligible seniors can book appointments through the dark blue “Find out if you are eligible to book” button on www.toronto.ca/covid-19 with the added option of booking by phone through the Provincial Vaccine Information Line at 1-888-999-6488. The City and healthcare partners are working to operate approximately 25 clinics this weekend, including mobile teams and on-site vaccinations, to vaccinate priority groups identified by the Province of Ontario’s priority framework. These clinics are only vaccinating those in the priority groups who have confirmed appointments.

City of Toronto immunization clinics
•       Yesterday, held three clinics at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto Congress Centre and Scarborough Town Centre.
•       Vaccinated seniors age 80 and older.
•       All appointments are fully booked for this weekend.

Unity Health Toronto
•       Yesterday, held two on-site clinics at St. Michael’s Hospital and St. Joseph’s Health Centre and four mobile clinics in congregate settings.
•       Vaccinated 805 people who are priority hospital and community-based healthcare workers, local pharmacy staff, local dentists and their staff, individuals 80 years and older, individuals living in congregate settings, members of the Indigenous community and shelter staff.
•       Over the weekend, will hold two on-site clinics and a mobile clinic.
•       Will vaccinate approximately 982 people belonging to the same groups.

University Health Network
•       Yesterday, held four on-site clinics and a mobile clinic.
•       Vaccinated 1,130 people who are individuals 80 years and older, healthcare workers and students, long-term care workers and essential care givers and patients at the on-site clinics.
•       Vaccinated 80 individuals living in shelters at the mobile clinic.
•       Over the weekend, will hold three on-site clinics and a mobile clinic.
•       Will vaccinate 910 people belonging to the same groups.

Michael Garron Hospital – East Toronto Health Partners
•       Yesterday, held two on-site clinics, two pop-up clinics and a mobile clinic.
•       Vaccinated 912 people who are healthcare workers, community members 80 years and older, individuals living in congregate settings and members of the Indigenous community.
•       Over the weekend, will hold four on-site clinics, one primary care clinic, and two pop-up clinics, and deploy two mobile teams.
•       Will vaccinate approximately 1,890 people belonging to the same groups.

Humber River Hospital
•       Yesterday, held one on-site clinic and a mobile clinic.
•       Vaccinated 718 people who are healthcare workers, first responders, patients, individuals 80 years and older, Indigenous adults and adult recipients of home care services.
•       Over the weekend, will hold two on-site clinics.
•       Will vaccinate approximately 1,061 people belonging to the same groups.

North York General Hospital
•       Yesterday, held two on-site clinics and a mobile clinic.
•       Vaccinated approximately 1,150 people who are hospital healthcare workers, patients and community members 80 years and older at the on-site clinics.
•       Vaccinated approximately 66 people who are 65 years and older living in congregate care settings and people living in shelters at the mobile clinic.
•       Over the weekend, will hold one on-site clinic.
•       Will vaccinate approximately 800 people who are healthcare workers and patients 80 years and older.

Scarborough Health Network
•       Yesterday, held two on-site clinics and a mobile clinic.
•       Vaccinated 2,100 people who are 80 years and older, healthcare workers and individuals living in congregate settings.
•       Over the weekend, will hold three on-site clinics.
•       Will vaccinate approximately 2,400 people who are 80 years and older and healthcare workers.

The City, Toronto Public Health, hospitals and community healthcare centres are all working together to get Torontonians vaccinated as quickly as possible. Getting vaccinated protects individuals, their close contacts and the community. As vaccine supply for the general population becomes widely available from the Government of Canada and the Province, more than 350 clinics, including pharmacies and mobile clinics across Toronto, will vaccinate people following the priority framework established by the Province.
