Toronto Elections reminds eligible voters of September 23 deadline for mail-in voting applications

2022 municipal election

With preparations for the 2022 municipal election in full swing, Toronto Elections is reminding eligible voters about important deadlines for mail-in voting and voters’ list additions and updates.

Eligible voters who want to submit their vote by mail must apply by Friday, September 23 at 4:30 p.m. either online (www.toronto.ca/MyVote) or by calling 311. This new mail-in voting option provides voters with a convenient way to vote. More information about voting by mail and how to apply is available on the Toronto Elections Mail-In Voting webpage: www.toronto.ca/VoteByMail.

Voters’ List additions and updates
Eligible voters can add or update their information online (www.toronto.ca/MyVote) by Friday, September 23 at 4:30 p.m. Following this date, eligible voters will still be able to add their name to the voters’ list by calling 311 or emailing VoterRegistration@toronto.ca until Friday, October 14 at 4:30 p.m. Eligible voters can also add themselves to the voters’ list at their voting location during advance voting days (October 7 to 14) or on election day (October 24).

Voter Information Cards to be mailed starting the week of September 26
Starting the week of September 26, the City will mail voter information cards. Although a voter information card is not required to vote, the cards do provide information about when and where to vote and will lead to a faster voting experience. If an eligible voter on the voters’ list does not receive their voter information card, they can use MyVote (www.toronto.ca/MyVote) to print or download a digital copy to their smartphone, which can be shown at the voting place, along with acceptable identification.

New MyVote features available starting Monday, October 3
Starting Monday, October 3, additional MyVote features will allow users to find their advance vote and election day voting places, view a sample ballot, and view, download and print their voter information card. Voters are reminded to visit MyVote before they head to the voting location to ensure there have been no changes to their voting location.
