Toronto Maple Leafs beat Seattle Kraken 6-4, Simmonds Honoured

The Toronto Maple Leafs honoured Wayne Simmonds for playing 1000 NHL games.

The Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Seattle Kraken with a score of 6-4.  The leafs were playing at home in front of a packed house at Scotiabank Centre in Toronto.

Auston Matthews

Leafs Assistant Captain Auston Matthews scored a hat trick adding to his league leading total of 43 points this season.

The leafs forward is on a roll scoring 9 goals in the last 8 games and 37 in his last 36 games.

He also leads the league with the most goals since 2016-2017 season with 242.

Wayne Simmonds

On March 5th Maple Leafs Defenseman and Scarborough native Wayne Simmonds reached the 1,000 professional game mark. He is the 364th player in NHL history to play more than 1,000 professional games. Today March 8th before the game, he was honoured with a silver hockey stick during a pregame ceremony.

Toronto’s next game is on March 10, 2022 at home against the Arizona Coyotes.

Commentary

We are glad the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Seattle Kraken 6-4.  It was a very close and exciting game to watch.
