Toronto Raptors Fred VanVleet back in the lineup against the San Antonio Spurs

The Toronto Raptors beat the San Antonio Spurs 119 – 104. The team was playing an away game in San Antonio and riding a 3 game losing streak, tied for their longest losing streak of the season. The Raptors had lost 5 of 7 since the All Star Break but they looked more like their old selves snapping the streak.  It was the first time in history they won 3 games in a row against the Spurs.

The team is currently sitting 7th in the Eastern Conference 2.5 games behind Cleveland Cavaliers for the 6th and final guaranteed playoff spot.

Fred VanVleet

PG Fred VanVleet was back in the lineup after missing 5 games due to a knee injury. The Raptors have been struggling as of late without their all star guard.  He set the tone tonight.. Freddy Allstar scored 26 points, with 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

Scottie Barnes & Pascal Siakam

Raptors rookie Scottie Barnes had an impressive game with 20 points and 8 Rebounds. Pascal Siakam scored 20 points with 8 rebounds as well.

Commentary

The Raptors looked more like their old selves. They played solid defence.
