The Toronto Raptors are back in the win column after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday, 124 – 121.  The Raptors were playing at home in Toronto at Scotiabank Arena.

In the line up for the first time were the Raptors two new players, RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley. Both players started the game for the Raptors and their impact was immediate.

RJ Barrett

RJ Barrett had a great first game with the Raptors, aggressively driving to the net, drawing fouls and making his free throw shots. He finished with 19 points and 9 rebounds.

Immanuel Quickley

Immanuel Quickley also had a great game for the Raptors scoring 14 points with 6 rebounds and 3 assists. You can see watching him play that he could easily score 20+ points per game once he gets comfortable with his new team.

It was refreshing to watch the Raptors dominate from tip-off. They have a-lot of offensive weapons now. At one point in the game they had a 19 point lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers before Quickley had to sit on the bench with foul trouble. It was then the Cavaliers started to creep back going on a “quick” run.

High Scorer

Pascal Siakam lead all players scoring 36 points along with 5 rebounds. Scottie Barnes finished with 20 points.

The Toronto Raptors next game is on Wednesday January 3rd on the road against the Memphis Grizzlies.
