Toronto Raptors win first game of season 97 – 94 against Minnesota Timberwolves

The Toronto Raptors played their first game of the 2023 – 2024 regular season on Wednesday October 25th. They faced the Minnesota Timberwolves at home in Toronto at Scotia Bank Arena.

The Raptors are hoping to have a better season than they did last year after making a few moves during the off season.  The Raptors fired championship head coach Nick Nurse and brought in a rookie head coach in Darko Rajakovic and signed point guard Dennis Schroder after losing former point guard Fred VanVleet in free agency.

In their season opener the Raptors played a dominate game giving their rookie head coach his first NBA win.  They beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 97 – 94. After the game the team celebrated the coaches first win in the locker room with cheers and ice water.

High Scorers

The Toronto Raptors Dennis  Schroder was the high scorer for the Raptors finishing with 22 points. O.G. Anunoby scored 20 points followed by Scottie Barnes with 17 points.

The Toronto Raptors next game is on Friday October 27th on the road against the Chicago Bulls.
