The City of Toronto invites members of the media to a sneak peek dress rehearsal for the STOMP urban dance competition and showcase that features Toronto’s youth dance teams, bands, vocalists, rappers and dub poets.
Date: Saturday, April 7
Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Driftwood Community Recreation Centre, 4401 Jane St.
One of Youth Week’s highlight events, the STOMP urban dance competition and showcase features youth age six to 24, from Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation dance programs, private dance companies, community dance groups and showcase teams. Featured styles of dance include step, break, hip-hop, dancehall, Bollywood, jazz and contemporary.
The 2018 STOMP urban dance competition and showcase will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 6 at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts.
