Rabba joins forces with Maple Leaf Foods to deliver 250 lbs of food to The Mississauga Food Bank in time for Easter weekend

Mississauga – Just in time for Easter, Rabba Fine Foods has teamed up with Maple Leaf Foods and The Mississauga Food Bank as part of its Rabba Roots Community Giving program. Thanks to the generous support of Maple Leaf Foods, Rabba was able to provide 250 pounds of quality Maple Leaf Easter hams to help make the holiday a little brighter for Mississauga families. The two Ontario-based companies share a mutual commitment to helping local communities.

“Each year, we do our very best to support The Mississauga Food Bank in its important work in our communities,” said Rima Rabba, leader of the Rabba Roots Community Giving Program. “It’s an honour to work with partners like Maple Leaf Foods who share our commitment to fighting food insecurity and supporting the work of our local food banks.”

The Mississauga Food Bank will distribute the food through its 50-plus network  agencies across the city and through its “FoodBank2Home” delivery program to homebound neighbours.

The Mississauga Food Bank is facing a time of urgent need with food bank usage rising almost 60% since 2019 and is only continuing to rise.

“Maple Leaf Foods has a long history of working to combat food insecurity across Canada,” says Stephen Carroll, Customer Business Development Manager at Maple Leaf Foods. “It’s our mission to support the communities in which we serve and we are very proud to support The Mississauga Food Bank with this donation.”

Built on more than 50 years of grocery service to the community, the Rabba Roots Community Giving Program is dedicated to contributing to the lives of people through access to food, health and emergency services. Its community partners include Good Shepherd Ministries, the Grocery Foundation (Toonies for Tummies program), Trillium Health Partners Foundation as well as The Mississauga Food Bank.
