Toronto Paramedic Services celebrate the graduation of 61 new Operations and Communications Centre recruits

Toronto Paramedic Services Graduation Ceremony for new recruits

At a graduation ceremony last night, Deputy Mayor Jennifer McKelvie (Scarborough-Rouge Park), Acting Chief Bikram Chawla, Toronto Paramedic Services (TPS) and other City of Toronto officials welcomed 61 new frontline TPS Operations and Communications Centre staff members to the City of Toronto after completing the comprehensive orientation and training programs.

Toronto’s skilled paramedics provide 24-hour pre-hospital emergency care that may be the difference between life and death for ill or injured individuals. Toronto’s Central Ambulance Communications Centre is the critical link between the community and paramedic-based health care. Emergency Medical Dispatchers and Call Takers provide immediate access to dispatch life support instructions using an accredited call triage system and modern telecommunications technology that ensure Toronto residents have timely access to emergency medical resources.

Last night’s graduates join the dedicated team of TPS professionals who continue to provide exceptional pre-hospital care to Toronto’s residents and visitors.
