MIGUASHA, QC, Dec. 2021 / CNW Telbec / – Miguasha National Park will soon enjoy a remarkable showcase highlighting the exceptional character of its fossils. The Miguasha Fossil Site was chosen to be at the very heart of the  Royal Ontario Museum’s new Willner Madge  Dawn of Life gallery .

This gallery, scheduled to open in Toronto on December 4, 2021 , will highlight the unique importance of Canada’s paleontological heritage in understanding the origin and evolution of life on Earth. You can admire a large number of original specimens or casts of fossils taken from the fossiliferous cliff of Miguasha, several of which were the subject of an exchange protocol between the two institutions. The Royal Ontario Museum can pride itself on presenting its visitors the only replica in the world of the complete fossil of Elpistostege watsoni , the nearly 400 million year old original of which is on display in Miguasha National Park in Baie-des-Chaleurs,

The Royal Ontario Museum is considered the largest and most comprehensive museum institution in Canada . Year in and year out, its 40 galleries and exhibition halls are visited by more than a million visitors, making it one of the 10 most visited museums in North America.  Sepaq.com
