Ontario Program Attracts National and International Sport Events

Home turf competition experience is a “win-win” for athletes and local economies

Ontario’s Government for the People is working to make Ontario a destination of choice for national and international amateur sport events.

Applications for the first intake of Ontario’s 2019-20 Sport Hosting Program are now being  accepted. The program provides funding to support national and international amateur sport events that are hosted in Ontario. The deadline for applications is February 11, 2019.

The program provides invaluable elite competition experience to Ontario’s athletes and strengthens local communities by drawing tourists, creating jobs and improving the local sport and recreation infrastructure.
