TORONTONov. 7, 2017 /CNW/ – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has been named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for the seventh consecutive year. The national competition determines which employers lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces for their employees.

“At Accenture, we help our clients solve their most significant challenges in an environment that is powered by leading-edge workplace practices and technologies, enabling our people to direct and grow their own careers,” said Bill Morris, Accenture’s Canadian President and Senior Managing Director.

Accenture is consistently recognized globally as an employer of choice, including by DiversityInc for the past eleven years and FORTUNE magazine for the past nine years. Accenture has also been recognized on Pride at Work Canada’s LGBT Workplace Inclusion Index for three consecutive years.

“Our commitment to inclusion and diversity is infused throughout our culture and embedded in our core values at Accenture, and drives our ability to lead with innovation and talent,” said Claudia Thompson, Managing Director, Inclusion and Diversity for Accenture in Canada.

Some new programs and initiatives that contribute to Accenture continuing to be recognized as an employer of choice include:

  • Gender parity: In 2017, Accenture announced that it will achieve a gender-balanced workforce, with 50 percent women and 50 percent men, by 2025. Accenture has taken several steps to attract, retain, advance and sponsor women on its path to achieving a gender balanced workforce, including sponsoring the advancement of women in senior roles, a commitment to transparency, and launching skill-building workshops for women such as The Women in Technology program.
  • Commitment to Canadian innovation: Of note in 2017, Accenture announced its platinum-level sponsorship to the Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence in Toronto. We are excited to work with the Vector Institute on this unprecedented collaboration in Canada, to explore how business, government, academia, and innovators can continue to master AI – which increasingly is becoming the predominant way to create new business, economic, and social value.
  • International Women’s Day: In March, Accenture hosted International Women’s Day celebrations across Canada to initiate a bilingual cross-country social media campaign on pay equity under the hashtags #GettingToEqual and #AtteindreEquite.  The events included guest speakers including CTV The Social’s Marci Ien, Olympic champion Silken Laumann, and Brigadier-General Jennie Carignan – the first female combat general from the Canadian Armed Forces.
