Invest in Iceland to Host Breakfast Reception at MaRs on Investment Opportunities in Icelandic Life Sciences

Topics include: Leveraging the Icelandic health data records and genomic data, pharmaceutical patent loopholes and opportunities in Biomedical research.

TORONTO, March 21, 2018 /CNW/ – Invest in Iceland, a part of Promote Iceland –in collaboration with the Embassy of Iceland in Canada, Icelandic-Canadian Chamber of Commerce, World Trade Centre Toronto and the Toronto Region Board of Trade – invites media and investors to attend a breakfast reception on Thursday, March 22, at MaRs Discovery District in Toronto, Ontario.

The reception will focus on the advantages of doing business in Iceland by showcasing Icelandic life sciences companies. It will also demonstrate how Invest in Iceland can assist life science companies considering starting or expanding business in Europe.

Breakfast event with keynote speeches aimed at addressing Iceland’s life sciences
industries for investment. Speakers are Björn Lárus Örvar, Ph.D, co-founder of ORF,
which created the skincare brand, BIOEFFECT; Einar Stefánsson, MD, Ph.D., a leading
physician in the research of diabetic eye disease; and Chris McClure, Ph.D, consultant to
Invest in Iceland.
