Toronto Paramedic Services’ Communication Centre to be awarded world-class accreditation.

Chief Gord McEachen will be presented with the “Accredited Centre of Excellence” certification for the Toronto Paramedic Services’ Communications Centre by Jerry Overton, Chair of the Board of Accreditation of the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED).

Twenty-two emergency medical dispatchers and call-takers will also be awarded certificates of excellence for the results they achieved during the accreditation audit.

The IAED was established in 1988 and is a standard-setting organization for the field of emergency medical dispatch. It is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. This organization is dedicated to establishing the highest standard of communications centre protocols for the delivery of 911 emergency medical care. Communications centres around the world apply to the IAED for accreditation every three years and this is the fourth time Toronto Paramedic Services will be receiving this coveted industry honour.
