Several upcoming special events and road work in Toronto will involve road closures. Residents and visitors are encouraged to attend the events. Businesses in the affected areas are open to pedestrian traffic but some roads will be closed to vehicles.
Festivals and other special events are important to the city, injecting hundreds of millions of dollars annually into Toronto’s economy, and they are enjoyed each year by local residents and visitors.
In addition to road closures related to special events, a significant amount of road work is taking place in the city. People are encouraged to take public transit as a greener, faster and more affordable way of getting to their destinations.
Those who need to drive in the general vicinity of special events should allow extra time to get to and from their destinations. A more complete list of events and road work is available at

Remembrance Day ceremony – Old City Hall
The following streets will be closed on Saturday, November 11 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.:
• Bay Street from Dundas Street West to Richmond Street West
• Queen Street West from Yonge Street to York Street.
Remembrance Day ceremony – Queen’s Park
The following streets will be closed on Saturday, November 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.:
• Queen’s Park Crescent East from College Street to Wellesley Street West
• Queen’s Park Crescent West from Hoskin Avenue to College Street
• Grosvenor Street from Queen’s Park Crescent East to Surrey Place
• Wellesley Street West from Queen’s Park Crescent West to Queen’s Park Crescent East
Remembrance Day ceremony – Moss Park Armoury
• The north and south curb lane will be closed on Queen Street East from Jarvis Street to Sherbourne Street on Saturday, November 11 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Remembrance Day ceremony and parade
Bloor Street East from Church Street to Ted Rogers Way will be closed on Saturday, November 11 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada ceremony and parade.
Also on Remembrance Day, the TTC will pause all service at 11 a.m. for two minutes to honour those who have died in service of our country. Current members of the Canadian Armed Forces in uniform, as well as Canadian war veterans and peacekeepers wearing military service medals/ribbons, can ride the TTC free of charge on Remembrance Day. One companion will be allowed to ride for free, as well.
King Street Transit Pilot Project
Thursday, November 9 – King Street Transit Pilot Project launch event:
• Charlotte Street southbound from King Street West to Adelaide Street West will be closed from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Friday, November 10 – road work:
• The eastbound curb lane on King Street between Bathurst Street and Jarvis Street will be closed from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
• The westbound curb lane on King Street between Bathurst Street and Jarvis Street will be closed from 6 p.m. until 2 a.m.
Saturday, November 11 – traffic signal work:
• Road users should expect delays due to traffic control signal activation on King Street between Bathurst Street and Jarvis Street from 5 a.m. until 1 p.m.
During the King Street Transit Pilot project (approximately one year), there will be no parking on King Street between Bathurst Street and Jarvis Street, effective Friday, November 10 at 5 a.m.
