Mississauga Steelheads Blowout the Hamilton Bulldogs 8 – 2

The Mississauga Steelheads were playing the Hamilton Bulldogs at home at the Paramount Fine Foods Center in OHL action Friday night.  The Bulldogs were the best team in the OHL last year finishing with the best record in the league.  In the playoffs, they were the OHL champions winning the J. Ross Robertson Cup.

This season the Bulldogs have not got off to such a good start winning only 3 out of 7 games and are currently sitting last in the East Division and last in the Eastern Conference.

The Steelheads on the other hand have got off to a great start this season, having won the last 5 games and are currently sitting 1st in the Central Division and have the 2nd best record in the OHL (6 -1)

It was the Steelheads who got on the scoreboard first with a goal by Luca Del Bel Belluz in the 1st period.  His 4th goal of the 2022/2023 season.  The Bulldogs answered back with a goal by A. Hayes a few minutes later.

The Steelheads broke the tie in the 2nd period with a goal by Ethan Del Mastro. His 2nd goal of the 2022/2023 season. Two goals by Kai Schwindt, his 1st and 2nd of the season, gave the Steelheads a 4 – 2 lead heading into the 3rd period.

In the 3rd period Mississauga put the game out of reach scoring 4 more goals. Kai Schwindt scored his 3rd goal of the game and 3rd goal of the season giving him a hat trick. Luca Misa, Zack Lavoie and Owen Beck also scored.

At the end of regulation the Mississauga Steelheads walked away with an 8 -2 victory.
