The Mississauga Steelheads are facing the Barrie Colts in the 1st round of the 2022 OHL Playoffs. Today was game 1 of their best of 7 series.
The Steelheads got on the scoreboard 1st with a goal from James Hardie with 13:02 left in the 1st period.
Barrie got on the board tying the game in the 2nd period with a goal from Hunter Haight.
It was a defensive battle in the 3rd period with no team wanting to give up the lead. The game went into overtime until Evan Vierling from the Barrie Colts scored the game winning goal.
That was it, Mississauga Steelhead lost game 1 by a score of 1 – 2 in overtime.
They now trail the best of 7 series 0 – 1.
