Premier Doug Ford Shares Lunar New Year Greetings

Lunar New Year 2023, Year of the Rabbit

TORONTO — Today, Premier Doug Ford issued the following statement to mark the beginning of 2023 Lunar New Year observances:

“Today marks the beginning of the new year in the Lunar Calendar. It’s a day celebrated by cultures both around the world and right here in Ontario, particularly those with Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese origins.

It’s a special time to gather with family and friends, share traditional dishes, and welcome happiness, health and good fortune in the year ahead.

In Ontario, we’re so grateful to have such a large, diverse population of Asian descent, enriching our culture and contributing to our province’s growth and success. On behalf of the Government of Ontario, I wish you all a very happy Lunar New Year.

Gung Hei Fat Choy, saehae bok mani badeuseyo, and Chúc mừng năm mới!”
