Prime Minister Justin Trudeau speaks with Alberta Premier Jason Kenney

Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with Alberta Premier Jason Kenney about the Canada-U.S. relationship, including the Keystone XL Project.

The Prime Minister stated that Canada has made the case for the project, including recently to President-elect Biden, and Ambassador Hillman and others in government have also been speaking with high-level officials in the incoming administration. The Prime Minister said that workers in Alberta and across Canada will always have the government’s support.

The Prime Minister looked forward to working with the incoming administration of President-elect Biden to fight climate change, protect jobs and grow the economy.

The Prime Minister and the Premier agreed to remain in touch in the coming days and weeks and to work closely with other premiers to support Canada’s trade interests and relationship with the United States and to continue fighting COVID-19 and keeping people safe.
