Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Andrew Furey about the COVID-19 pandemic and other shared priorities.

The Prime Minister and the Premier emphasized the strong partnership between Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador. They spoke about the next steps for the financial restructuring of the Lower Churchill Projects as well as the agreement-in-principle to restructure project ownership and to continue to develop the Terra Nova Asset Life Extension Project. They also discussed early learning, child care, and health care.

The two leaders agreed on the importance of continuing to work together on these shared priorities and to move forward on a path to grow the economy.
