Toronto COVID-19 vaccination update

The City of Toronto is working with all our healthcare partners and Toronto Public Health to administer all available COVID-19 vaccines. To date, 263,532 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Toronto.

Starting Wednesday, March 17, the City will begin vaccinating residents born in 1941 and earlier at three of the City-operated mass immunization clinics: Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto Congress Centre and Scarborough Town Centre. Vaccinations will also begin at the Malvern Community Recreation Centre and Mitchell Field Community Centre clinics on March 29 and at The Hangar clinic site on April 5.

Online booking for this priority group at these six City-run clinics began on Friday, March 12. As of Sunday evening, 11,178 people have booked COVID-19 vaccination appointments at a City-run clinic. There will be no further booking available until later this morning when the Province of Ontario launches the new province-wide online booking system and call centre. Once the system is live later this morning, appointments for Toronto residents that will be age 80 or older in 2021 can be made by following the registration link or phoning the call centre number that will be available at www.toronto.ca/covid-19/.

More information about booking for eligible seniors aged 80 and over is available on toronto.cahttps://www.toronto.ca/news/city-of-toronto-online-covid-19-vaccination-booking-for-residents-born-in-1941-or-earlier/.

The City, Toronto Public Health, hospitals and community healthcare centres are all working together to get Torontonians vaccinated as quickly as possible. Getting vaccinated protects individuals, their close contacts and the community. As vaccine supply for the general population becomes widely available from the Government of Canada and the Province, more than 350 clinics, including pharmacies and mobile clinics across Toronto, will vaccinate people following the priority framework established by the Province.

To stop the spread of COVID-19 in the community, protect the healthcare system and save lives, the City continues to urge all residents to stay home as much as possible. Please review the City’s simple “Dos” and “Don’ts” guide for recommended and mandatory public health measures at www.toronto.ca/home/covid-19/covid-19-reopening-recovery-rebuild/covid-19-guide-for-toronto-residents-grey/.
