Good morning Canada and good day France! Its Race Day Sunday and we are back at the Lenovo Grand Prix De France 2022, Circuit Paul Ricard. It’s going to be a scorching day here in Southern France.

The rubbers will be sticky and the set of soft or medium tyres the drivers use will need to be managed well. The timing of the pit stops, one or maybe two, will be critical, so to “Undercut” the timing of this tricky exchange, it will need to be executed well, with precision and remain flawless.

Look out for pit stops and all the radio chatter and gamesmanship going on, as it was the main exchange that put Red Bull Racing on the top of the podium last season, on the last few laps.

This race will be dramatic to the end.

Opportunities will present themselves in this race, fast and furious, so the teams that take the risk of undercutting their rivals will be rewarded on top of the podium.

Overtaking around the nippy wide bends and turns will be a Ferrari and Mercedes advantage but then on quick fast straights, Red Bull Racing has the top line speed and overall fastest race pace.

All of this can go wrong for any of the teams on Sunday. If they run over the apex of those nasty Krebs, turn 11 going into 12, it will inflict damage to the underbelly of the team’s carriages. If that happens, well game over!

In the first turn of the race, Leclerc, Verstappen and Perez will be straight-lining into positioning themselves in front of the pack. Mercedes and McLaren will be in the mix.  Ferrari driver Sainz and Magnussen’s Hass will be fast charging and hunting down anyone in front of them from the back of the pack due to the grid penalties they took for the new and extra parts for their cars.

The is going to be a dramatic, hard-charging and action-packed pace from start to finish and from the back to the front of the race.

Everything you could want in an F1 race!

Race Day Sunday coverage starts at 7:30 a.m. our time with the race at 9a.m.
